I originally installed Vista as a dual boot on my "D" drive with xp on my "C" drive. I didn't like that setup, so I went back to a ghost image of my "C" drive and all was well, except that my "D" drive still had the program files, programdata, users, and windows directories on it. My question is, how do I delete these directories? I've done numerous searches on google with no help. I have tried safe-mode administrator login and take ownership of the entire "D" drive. Still couldn't delete them. I've tried accessing them from a linux virtual machine as an smb share, no-go either. I've tried accessing it from a seperate physical computer running xp. I've tried it with simple filesharing both on and off. I haven't tried ntfsdos professional boot disk, as that solution is way out of my price range (the free version is read only). One last point, my "D" drive is 200gb with about 160gb used. I don't have the space anywhere on my network to backup the drive less the vista system folders and format. Any help appriceated.
Thank you,

Deleting vista system files from xp
Use XP Disk Manager to delete the partition and then create a new one. Very fast. You can do either a quick format or a full format.
